The Penn State Shenango Women's Basketball team is heading to the USCAA National Tournament as the #8 seed after an impressive 2024-25 season. The Lions will face a familiar opponent in the first round, squaring off against Penn State York from the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC).
The Lions earned their spot in the national tournament following a strong 16-9 overall record, including a 13-4 mark in PSUAC play. Although their conference championship run ended in the PSUAC semifinals with a loss to eventual champion Penn State Beaver, Penn State Shenango's consistent performance throughout the season earned them a coveted postseason berth.
Leading the charge for the Lions is Shar'Da Williamson, who has been a dominant force all season. Williamson averaged 16.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, showcasing her scoring ability and presence on the boards. In conference play, she elevated her game further, averaging 17.5 points while shooting an impressive 47.5% from the field.
Hailee Aguinaga has been a key contributor on both ends of the floor, averaging 12.0 points and a team-leading 9.9 rebounds per game.
