The game began with Greater Allegheny taking an early lead, scoring single runs in the first, second, and third innings. Shenango responded in the bottom of the second inning to get on the board, but the offense found it difficult to string together hits against the opposing starter. Defensively, Shenango worked hard to keep the game within reach.
