Shenango Grits Out Game Two Win to Sweep Fayette
Penn State Shenango baseball completed the Saturday sweep of Penn State Fayette, securing a 7-5 victory in the nightcap. While the opener was defined by an offensive explosion, the second game of the doubleheader saw Shenango lean on timely hitting and a resilient effort from the bullpen to clinch the conference sweep.
Shenango struck early, jumping out to a 4-0 lead by the end of the second inning. The offensive effort was anchored by Dominic Fornataro, who continued his hot streak by going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Troy Bachman also played a pivotal role in the victory, turning in a 2-for-4 performance with a go-ahead home run in the 7th.
The middle innings saw Fayette attempt to close the gap, but the Shenango bullpen proved up to the task.
