Penn State Shenango concluded its weekend home series at Pemberton Park, falling 16-2 in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against conference-leading Penn State DuBois. Despite the result, the game featured bright spots from the lineup and a resilient relief performance on the mound.
Nate Evans provided the offensive highlight for the home side, launching a solo home run. Jason Malley also contributed to the scoring with an RBI, while Brady Walker reached base with a single to help spark the offense. Dante Micaletti crossed the plate for one of the two Shenango runs.
On the mound, Jacob Csonka delivered a strong performance in relief, striking out six batters over 3.0 innings and allowing only one earned run to settle the game. Tyler Houk, Josh Day, and Shaun Updegraff also saw action on the mound as the pitching staff worked through a high-powered DuBois lineup.
