Shenango Sweeps Beaver to Stay Unbeaten in Conference Play

The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team continued its dominant conference run Wednesday night, sweeping Penn State Beaver in straight sets (25-16, 25-17, 25-10) at the Beaver Field House. The win moves Shenango to 11-8 overall and 9-0 in PSUAC play, maintaining their perfect conference record.
Shenango displayed a balanced and efficient offense throughout the match, posting a team hitting percentage of .507 while holding Beaver to just .178. Izzy Mauro led the attack with 13 kills on 16 swings for an outstanding .750 hitting percentage, while Sydney Ward added eight kills, two blocks, and an ace. Setter Jadeyn Zepeda directed the offense with precision, recording 24 assists, two aces, and 10 digs. Savana Shipman contributed across the board with six kills, three aces, and a block, and Taylor Burns chipped in five kills on an efficient .364 hitting percentage. The team's strong serving was another key factor, as Shenango tallied 14 aces to Beaver's six.
Defensively, the Lady Lions kept Beaver's hitters in check and controlled the pace from start to finish, limiting their opponent to only 10 points in the final set. Jillian Palumbo led the back row with four digs, while Gabby Villanueva Santos and Taegan Scheller combined for seven service aces.
The victory marks Shenango's ninth straight conference win, further solidifying their position at the top of the PSUAC West standings.
