Shenango Falls to Wooster in Four Sets

The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball fell to Wooster in four sets on Monday night (25-23, 20-25, 19-25, 19-25) at Timken Gymnasium. With the result, Shenango moves to 10-8 overall, but remains 8-0 in PSUAC play, while Wooster improves to 5-13 (1-2 NCAC). Shenango came out strong in the opening frame, edging Wooster 25-23 behind steady hitting and early defensive pressure. However, the home team responded with three straight set wins, using a balanced attack and improved efficiency to close out the match.
Sydney Ward led the Shenango offense with 11 kills, two aces, and two blocks, hitting an impressive .321 on the night. Savana Shipman added 11 kills, 13 digs, and two aces, while setter Jadeyn Zepeda distributed 26 assists and contributed 15 digs of her own. Izzy Mauro chipped in nine kills and four total blocks, providing consistent net presence. Despite the loss, Shenango's defense remained strong, tallying 73 team digs. Jillian Palumbo anchored the back row with 16 digs, and Gabby Villanueva Santos added 10 digs and four aces from the service line.
The Lady Lions will look to regroup as they continue their strong overall season and perfect conference record.
