Shenango Sweeps Fayette to Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play
Sharon, PA – October 4, 2025 — The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team kept their unbeaten conference streak alive on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Penn State Fayette in straight sets (25-16, 25-20, 25-22) at the Buhl Club. The win lifts Shenango to 9-6 overall and 7-0 in PSUAC play, while handing Fayette its first conference loss of the season.
From the first serve, Shenango set the tone with smart attacking and disciplined defense. The Lions' balanced offense and relentless back-row play proved too much for Fayette to overcome as Shenango controlled the match from start to finish.
Leading the offensive surge was Izzy Mauro, who dominated at the net with 16 kills on an impressive .394 hitting percentage, while also contributing three total blocks for a match-best 18.0 points. Setter Jadeyn Zepeda showcased her all-around game with 28 assists, seven kills, three service aces, and 10 digs, running an efficient and unpredictable offense. Savana Shipman continued to shine on both sides of the ball, recording 10 kills and a team-high 28 digs for another standout performance. Jillian Palumbo added consistency from the service line with three aces and anchored the defense with nine digs, while Sydney Ward and Taegan Scheller each provided steady contributions up front and in the back row.
As a team, Shenango totaled 40 kills, 10 aces, and 66 digs, holding Fayette to a low .077 team hitting percentage and forcing 20 attack errors.
With this victory, Shenango remains the only undefeated team in the PSUAC West (7-0) and continues to surge toward the top of the national rankings as postseason play nears.
