Shenango Sweeps Greater Allegheny to Stay Perfect in Conference Play
McKeesport, PA – October 1, 2025 — The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team continued their dominant conference run Wednesday night, sweeping Penn State Greater Allegheny in straight sets (27-25, 25-17, 25-18) inside Wunderly Gym. The victory pushes Shenango to 8-6 overall and a flawless 6-0 in PSUAC play, maintaining their hold on first place in the conference standings.
The opening set was a thriller, with Shenango clawing out a 27-25 win after trading points deep into extra serves. From there, the Lions found their rhythm, tightening up their attack and defense to take the final two sets in convincing fashion.
Offensively, Shenango was led by a balanced front line.

Izzy Mauro posted a team-high 12 kills on an impressive .333 hitting percentage, powering the offense with steady swings throughout all three sets.

Savana Shipman was close behind with 10 kills and added 13 digs to notch a double-digit performance on both sides of the net.

Sydney Ward contributed nine kills while hitting .304, continuing her reliable offensive production.
At the center of it all, setter Jadeyn Zepeda orchestrated the offense with 32 assists, while also chipping in two kills and a service ace. Her precision set up Shenango's hitters to attack efficiently as the match progressed. Behind the service line, Gabby Villanueva Santos was a major difference-maker, delivering eight aces to keep Greater Allegheny on their heels. Jillian Palumbo added another ace and anchored the back row with nine digs.
As a team, Shenango totaled 38 kills, 13 service aces, and 44 digs, holding Greater Allegheny to just .250 hitting while forcing key errors down the stretch.
With this win, the Lions improve to 6-0 in PSUAC competition and continue to build momentum as the regular season heats up. They'll look to extend their unbeaten conference streak when they return home for their next match.
