The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team faced a tough day on the road Saturday, falling in back-to-back matches against Wright State–Lake and host Cincinnati Clermont. Shenango opened the afternoon against Wright State–Lake, but no official stats were made available from the host institution. Despite the lack of numbers, the Lady Lions competed with grit throughout the contest before dropping a 3–0 decision.
Later in the afternoon, Shenango matched up with Cincinnati Clermont and showed fight in each set before falling 25–12, 25–19, and 25–13. Savana Shipman led the Lions' attack with seven kills on a .273 hitting percentage, while Izzy Mauro chipped in five kills, one ace, and a team-best eight points. Sydney Ward added four kills, two service aces, and five digs, while Jillian Palumbo anchored the defense with a team-high eight digs and also contributed an ace. Despite the loss, Shenango totaled 32 digs and eight block assists, showing strong defensive resolve.
The Lady Lions (1–2) will look to bounce back on Tuesday, September 9, when they travel to Pitt–Bradford for a 6:30 PM matchup.
