Sharon, PA- The Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball team is rolling into the regular season with momentum after closing out its exhibition slate in style. The Lady Lions took down the Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) 3–1 (25–21, 22–25, 25–17, 25–19) on Thursday night, flashing the kind of balance and grit that has fans buzzing heading into September. 

Shenango came out firing in the opening set, using aggressive swings and steady defense to grab the early edge. CCBC punched back to even the match in the second set, but the Lady Lions answered with authority. A dominant third set reestablished control, and Shenango never let up — slamming the door in the fourth to secure the win and cap off a promising preseason stretch that also included a road victory over La Roche and a hard-fought battle with Carlow. 

Freshman phenom Savana Shipman continues to turn heads, leading the way with a .306 hitting percentage, 20 digs, and two aces. Whether flying through the back row or attacking from the outside, Shipman's all-around play set the tone for Shenango. Up front, Izzy Mauro brought the heat with 10 kills on a .304 clip, while setter Jillian Palumbo kept the offense humming with 38 assists, 6 digs, and an ace of her own. 

The back row was relentless all night, with Sydney Ward (14 digs) and Taylor Burns (11 digs, 8 kills) anchoring a defense that frustrated CCBC's hitters. Middle hitters Jadeyn Zepeda and Taegan Scheller chipped in a combined 12 kills, giving Shenango firepower from every spot on the floor. 

With exhibitions complete, the Lady Lions look ready to turn the page and chase something bigger. Energy, confidence, and depth are all trending upward as Shenango gears up for regular season play — and this group looks more than capable of making noise in the PSUAC and USCAA.
