The 2023 Penn State Shenango Women's Volleyball season got off to a rocky start with the Lady Lions falling to Kent St-Tuscarawas on Saturday at the Buhl Club. Shenango fell behind early in the first set, 22-10, before roaring back, ultimately dropping the set 25-20. In the second frame, the Lions jumped out to a 7-2 lead before Tuscarawas climbed back into the set and won it, 25-18. Shenango dropped the third and final set, 25-11.
Penn State Shenango was led by 2nd-year Ella Stewart, who led the team with 5 kills, while 1st-year Kiara Varion added 8 assists and 12 digs. The Shenango Lady Lions will be back in action on Friday, September 1st when they take on Butler County Community College on the road at 6pm.
