Katie Richards, a graduate from West Middlesex High School, is the daughter of Kim Drapola and Russ Richards of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania. She also has an older brother Mathew Drapola. Katie was apart of the West Middlesex girls' basketball team and helped capture a few region titles and two district 10 championships. Katie was apart of the West Middlesex track and field program where she attended districts as a qualifier. Also, she was a part of the fastpitch softball program for a few years and helped her team catch a few region titles too.
Katie first found her love for volleyball when she was in 8th grade and from that moment on she knew it was a great fit for her. She was a part of the volleyball program there, won a few region titles, was named first team all-region player and second team all-region player. She competed in Junior Olympics volleyball and attended many camps to help her become a strong athlete. She is beyond grateful for having many amazing coaches throughout the years who have helped formed her into the athlete she is today.
Katie is not only a good athlete she is also well rounded in the classroom and works hard for what she wants. She is looking forward to playing for Penn State Shenango's first women's volleyball team! Go Lions!
