Olivia Vogel, a senior at Brookfield High School, is the daughter of Paul and Cindy Vogel of Brookfield, Ohio. She also has an older brother, Paul, Jr. Olivia was a competitive gymnast for ten years before deciding that she would like to try a new sport. At 5'10", she soon discovered that volleyball would be that sport. It did not take long for her coaches to realize that Olivia was an all-around player. She plays outside hitter and passer but has also played middle hitter and setter. As a freshman, Olivia was named player of the year on her varsity team. During her sophomore year, she was recognized by the All American Conference for Second Team and was District One All Star Second team for division three. In 2017 she earned Honorable Mention in the All American Conference. Olivia, as captain of her varsity team, earned her fourth letter for Volleyball her senior year, as well as Honorable Mention in District One for the Northeast Ohio Volleyball Coaches Association. She was also invited to play for a second time at the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association State All Star match.
In addition to high school volleyball, Olivia has played six years of Junior Olympic volleyball with several area club teams. Furthermore, Olivia was awarded the Scholar Athlete Award and is a member of Future Teachers of America, the Interact Club and was a student mentor for the Freshman Bridge program at Brookfield High School.
Olivia is looking forward to playing for Penn State Shenango's first women's volleyball team and is excited to be a part of the Penn State family.
