Ron Mutinelli

Bio

Coach Ron Mutinelli joins the Penn State Shenango Co-Ed Golf staff by bringing a lifelong passion for the game and a wealth of coaching experience. Originally from Greenville, PA, Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Mathematics from Saint Vincent College, where he also competed on the lacrosse team. A PGA of America Associate, Ron is currently the Assistant Golf Professional at The Golf Shop at Buhl Park, where he specializes in golf instruction. He takes great pride in helping his students improve their swing and deepen their understanding of the game.

Ron’s coaching background spans three decades and multiple sports. He began his career in basketball, coaching at the junior high and high school levels within the Catholic Dioceses of Pittsburgh and the Greenville School District. His 10-year tenure as Assistant Golf Coach at LaRoche College laid a strong foundation for his current role at Penn State Shenango. A former letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years, Ron has always found time to stay active in golf—as a player, a caddie, a coach, and a mentor. He and his wife Bobbi reside in Mercer County with their children, Amelia and Maddie. Ron’s dedication to teaching and growing the game continues to shape the next generation of golfers both on and off the course.

The 2025-26 season will mark the first at Penn State Shenango for Coach Mutinelli.
