Bio

Bob Collins, PGA Golf Professional, comes to Penn State Shenango with over 40 years of experience in golf instruction and coaching. Beginning his career as a golf instructor at the age of 18, Collins has dedicated his life to teaching the game to players of all skill levels. Known for his engaging teaching style, he has conducted thousands of private and group lessons, clinics, and junior golf sessions. His ability to make learning, practicing, and improving both fun and effective sets him apart in the field.

Coach Collins has made a significant impact on junior golf, having taught more than 5,000 young players through various programs and high school coaching. His efforts have earned him numerous accolades, including the Tri-State PGA Youth Player Development Award in 2018, and induction into the Tri-State PGA Hall of Fame in 2014. A regular competitor in PGA events, Collins won the Port St. Lucie tournament in Florida and has also qualified for the PGA National Club Professional Championship. His leadership includes serving as President of the Tri-State PGA and directing the Tri-State PGA Junior Golf Academy.

Since joining Penn State Shenango in 2022, Collins has used cutting-edge tools such as video analysis, swing training aids, and a TrackMan simulator to enhance player development. He is deeply committed to helping student-athletes reach their full potential, both on and off the course. As the founder of what is now the Isaly’s Junior Golf Tour, and a two-time recipient of the Tri-State PGA Junior Golf Leader Award, Coach Collins continues to influence the game at every level. His expertise, passion, and dedication make him an invaluable part of the Penn State Shenango Co-Ed Golf program.

The 2025-26 season will mark the fourth at Penn State Shenango for Coach Collins.
