Penn State Shenango Golf Battles Weather, Finishes Strong at Fayette
Belle Vernon, PA – September 20, 2025
The Penn State Shenango Golf team competed on Saturday afternoon at Penn State Fayette, navigating both scheduling challenges and weather delays to finish with a team score of 331.
Play began with a mix-up in tee times, but thanks to the efforts of the Fayette coach and athletic director, groups were reorganized quickly to keep the tournament moving. Mid-round, storms forced the lightning detector to sound while all groups still had holes remaining. Officials awarded pars on unfinished holes, ensuring a fair conclusion for all players.
Shenango was paced by Nathan Stuyvesant and Mason Vannoy, who each posted 80. Jacob Csonka carded 81, while Remington Hart and Tyler Evans each finished with 83. Bowen Briggs, Will Perry, and Cody Anderson rounded out the scoring with 84s apiece, demonstrating the team's depth and consistency throughout the lineup.
Despite the challenges, Shenango showed resilience and determination, gaining valuable experience for the rest of the season.
