Shenango Athletic Director Brandon Padgett reflected on the success of the day:
"I would like to thank all of the teams for participating in the first ever Officer Joe Izzo Invitational. It was a great day of golf. I also want to thank all of our sponsors, Tom Koch, Officer Jon Wilcox, A2Z Athletics, Giavonna's Gourmet Coffee, Hermitage Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #82, PennNorthwest Development Corporation's Homegrown Initiative, and Visit Mercer County. Lastly, I would like to say a huge thank you to Yankee Run Golf Course for stepping up in a big way and hosting us on such short notice after having to move the tournament from its previously scheduled location due to unexpected factors out of our control. We are beyond grateful for their willingness to host and their amazing hospitality. This event was put together to honor former Penn State Shenango Police Officer Joe Izzo, who was beloved by faculty, staff, and students alike, and his love of our students and the game of golf made this the perfect way for Penn State Shenango to honor him."
The invitational was more than just a day of competition — it was a chance for Shenango's golfers to represent their campus while honoring a man who meant so much to their community.
