Shenango Golf Places Third at DuBois Invitational

The Penn State Shenango Co-ed Golf team turned in a strong performance on Sunday, September 14, at the DuBois Country Club in a tournament hosted by Penn State DuBois. Competing against eight other PSUAC and USCAA programs, Shenango secured a third-place team finish with a combined score of 336, showing consistency across its lineup.
Cody Anderson led the way for Shenango with a sharp round of 81, setting the tone early for the Lions. He was backed closely by Nathan Stuyvesant (83), Bowen Briggs (87), Will Perry (86), and Mason Vannoy (86), each turning in competitive scores to help Shenango climb the leaderboard. Freshman Jacob Csonka added another solid round with an 86 as an individual, proving Shenango's depth. Meanwhile, Faith Sullivan also gained valuable experience, while Kent State-Tuscarawas' Leah Wright earned the Women's Medalist honor with an 88.
In the overall team competition, Mont Alto claimed the title with a total of 329, edging out Kent State-Tuscarawas (330) by a single stroke. Shenango's third-place finish (336) was just seven shots off the leaders, proving the Lions can compete with the top programs in the PSUAC. Hazelton (340) and York (341) rounded out the top five. The day's Men's Medalist honor went to Jacob Bassham (Mont Alto), who posted an impressive 73, the low score of the tournament.
Up Next: Shenango will be back in action on Saturday, September 20, when they travel to compete at Penn State Fayette. Tee time is set for 1 PM.
