Storm-Proof: Shenango Golf Battles Elements for Runner-Up Finish
Braving gusty winds and off-and-on rain showers, the Penn State Shenango Golf team battled the elements and the competition to earn a strong second-place finish Thursday at the University Park White Course. Shenango posted a team score of 315, led by Senior Will Perry, who fired a career-best 75 to tie for third overall.
Perry's steady hand in tough weather conditions set the tone for Shenango. Navigating wet fairways and swirling wind, he stayed composed throughout the round, delivering one of the top individual performances of the day.
Behind him, the Lions received balanced support from the rest of the lineup. Nathan Stuyvesant, Bowen Briggs, and Mason Vannoy all turned in solid scores of 80, providing consistency across the board. Cody Anderson added an 82, and Remington Hart shot an 85 to round out the Shenango card.
On the women's side, Faith Sullivan overcame the same challenging conditions to win the women's division with a round of 95, securing her first individual title of the season.
