Shenango Offense Explodes in Dominant 13-2 Road Win
Penn State Shenango baseball showcased its offensive depth on Saturday, pounding out 18 hits to secure a decisive 13-2 road victory over Penn State Fayette. After an early back-and-forth, Shenango's bats took complete control, scoring 12 unanswered runs over the final four frames to cruise to the finish.
The middle of the order provided a relentless attack, led by Nate Evans and John Perry, who each finished with three hits. Evans turned in a standout 3-for-5 performance, crossing the plate three times and driving in a pair of runs. Perry mirrored that efficiency, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs and scoring three times himself. Dominic Fornataro also played a key role in the offensive explosion, finishing 3-for-5 with a team-high three RBIs and swiping two bases. Troy Bachman and JA Quahliero joined the multi-hit club, each contributing multiple hits to fuel the double-digit scoring effort.
On the mound, Tyler Houk earned the win with a gritty start, tossing 6.1 solid innings. Houk surrendered just two runs on five hits while striking out three, effectively silencing the Fayette bats after a two-run first inning. Josh Day entered in relief to record the final two outs, preserving the lopsided victory.
Shenango's ability to maintain pressure was the difference, as the squad recorded runs in five of the seven innings played. With the win, Shenango continues its strong push through conference play, backed by a balanced attack that saw every starter reach base.
