Penn State Shenango Men's Basketball Signs Athlete Lorenzo Gardner

New Castle, Pa.--Penn State Shenango Men’s Basketball recently landed New Castle High School’s Lorenzo Gardner.

Lorenzo, the starting guard for New Castle, committed to continuing his education and playing career at Penn State Shenango. He played for one of the most winning high school programs in western Pennsylvania. During his senior season, Lorenzo averaged 10 points and 7 assists and helped lead New Castle to a 23-5 record. He had a great 4-year-run for the Red Hurricanes. His overall career record is 95-17. Lorenzo's honors also include: 2017 and 2018 WPIAL Champions, 307 career points, 138 career rebounds, and 193 career assists. He was named to the 2018 Honorable Mention All-Section and as the 2018 Roundball Classic MVP.

Lorenzo is the son of Antwan and Ruthann Gardner.

Coach Smith Commented: Lorenzo is a physical guard that can defend 94 feet. His strength will allow him to guard bigger players. Lorenzo played for a college style coach, Blundo, who prepares his players mentally and physically for the next level.
