David Jackson,Penn State Shenango’s Strength and Conditioning Coach and Assistant Coach will assist with player development, recruiting, scouting and practice preparation.
Jackson graduated from Penn State in 2010, and was a four year letter winner and two time team captain. He helped lead the Nittany Lions to the school’s first N.I.T. championship and a program best of 27 wins in 2009 and an NCAA tournament appearance in 2011. In the 2011 season, the Lions also earned a spot in the school’s first ever Big Ten Tournament championship game.
After completing his collegiate career in 2011, Jackson signed his first professional contract to play in Portugal. He spent the 2011-12 season in Portugal, the 2012-13 season in Iceland, and the 2014-15 season in Finland becoming an all league selection in his final two seasons in Europe.
Jackson began coaching with the Sharon, PA based A.A.U. program Penn Ohio Blue Storm beginning in the Spring of 2013. He also spent the 2013-14 as an assistant coach at Hickory High school under current Penn State Shenango Assistant Coach Geoff Evans. While at Hickory, the Hornets earned a spot in the district 10 playoffs.
A native of Farrell, PA., Jackson Graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Parks and Tourism Management in 2010. He currently resides in Hermitage.
