6’7" DeVonte Carter announced he will attend Penn State Shenango to finish out his collegiate career.

Carter, a JUCO transfer last played at Lincoln Trail Community College in Robinson, Illinois. Before his stop at Lincoln Trail, Carter played at Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas, which competes in one of the top Junior College Conferences in the country.

At Lincoln Trail, Carter averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds for the Statesmen during his sophomore season. He also earned Player of The Month honors and was tabbed one of the top players in the conference.

The athletic wingman graduated from Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia.

Smith noted: Carter will add some much needed size and athleticism to the lineup. DeVonte can defend many positions with his length. He can bring low post depth to the club.

DeVonte is the son of Lynetta Smith.
