GANNON MURRAY, LARRY RANSOM, JR. LEAD PENN STATE SHENANGO TO A KEY ROAD WIN OVER PENN STATE DUBOIS, 80-71

DUBOIS, PA- Fresh off earning the conference's Player of the Week honors Larry Ransom, Jr followed up by leading Penn State Shenango to a pivotal conference win on Wednesday night over Penn State DuBois, 80-71 on the road. The 6-2 freshman from Youngstown, Ohio canned 19 points and had another dominate night on the boards pulling down 21, 13 on the defensive side of the floor. Gannon Murray also netted 20 points while aiding the cause with 6 steals, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. As a team, Penn State Shenango shot 50 percent from behind the arc hitting 7 of 14 attempts.

Ransom, Jr. now sits atop the conference leader board in rebounding, tied with Jonathan Smith of Penn State Schuylkill with 10.3 per game. Murray ranks eighth in scoring in the PSUAC at 16.1 per contest.

Penn State DuBois was led by Tyler Davis, a 6-1 sophomore from Franklin, PA and Rocky Grove High School, with 17 points while Dylan Huey chipped in with 13.

With the win Penn State Shenango helped to solidify their place in the PSUAC Western Division standings now sitting in the third spot just a half game behind Penn State Greater Allegheny at 10-5. The Lions play at first place Mont Alto this Saturday at 2:00 pm before their showdown next Tuesday versus Penn State Greater Allegheny to help decide the second spot in the standings. The first two spots in the division earn all important home games in the first round of the conference tournament. The Lions overall record is now above .500 for the first time since the first game of the season at 11-10.

The Lions finish off the regular season on the 15th and 16th at home, with weather make up contests versus Penn State Brandywine and Lehigh Valley at the Buhl Recreation Center.
