DESPITE A STRONG SECOND HALF PENN STATE SHENANGO FALLS TO PENN STATE MONT ALTO, 75-64

SHARON, PA- Penn State Shenango fell behind early on Friday night going into the half time intermission down 38-24 but couldn't quite overcome the 14 point deficit. The Lions got back into the game quickly led by Head Coach Andre Smith changing to a high pressure defense and changing on occassion to a zone defense that got the Lions back into the game. The result was Penn State Shenango out scoring Mont Alto 40-37 in the second frame but still fell short in the end.

Penn State Mont Alto was led by 6-3 senior Jalen Smith, from Ranson, West Virginia, with 29 points for the game, 13 in the first half. Senior Nick Jacoby chipped in with 13 points total for Mont Alto.

Gannon Murray, back from one game off nursing a knee injury, put on a second half clinic leading Penn State Shenango with 26 points for the game and also adding 7 rebounds and 4 assists on the night. Russell Gariepy and Ramell Askerneese also chipped in with 11 points each for the Lions.

Penn State Shenango fell to 4-8 on the season and 3-3 in the conference while Penn State Mont Alto improved their record to 8-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

The Lions come right back again with another home game on Monday night when they host Penn State DuBois, game time at 7:00 pm, at the Buhl Recreation Center.
