WHEELING, WV- Penn State Shenango started off in control of the game on Tuesday night against Division II Wheeling Jesuit University jumping out to an early 13-7 lead. Steve Cannady, a freshman from Bowie, Maryland then got the Cardinals on track shooting 4 of 5 from behind the arc early on to put Wheeling Jesuit ahead for good to end with the final score 90-56. Cannady finished the first frame with 12 points and finished with 16 on the night. Jay Gentry of Wheeling Jesuit led all scorers with 17.
Wheeling Jesuit's efforts were aided strongly by collecting 43 points by players off the bench and sharp shooting the entire night, 16 of 35, from 3 point range.
Penn State Shenango turned in another fine effort on the boards pulling down 35 team rebounds but losing the turnover battle 20-12. The Lions were led again by Gannon Murray with 14 points and another fine effort on both sides of the court by Larry Ransom, Jr. wih 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lion men go at it again on Friday afternoon at Kent State Tuscarawas with a tip off time of 3:00 pm
