PENN STATE SHENANGO TAKES HOME FIRST CONFERENCE WIN ON GARIEPY'S THREE, 67-64

Russell Gariepy canned a three pointer, with the score tied at 64 and seven seconds left on the clock, to lead Penn State Shenango to their first conference win versus Penn State Greater Allegheny. The Albion, PA native finshed with 12 points and 4 assists in a trilling contest from the opening tip. The Lions jumped out to an early 18-6 lead and then took a 33-29 advantage into the locker room at intermission. PSUGA played the game without reigning conference Player of the Week Jordan Payne who was sidelined with an injury.

Greater Allegheny came into the game averaging 108.7 points per game in their first three contests and were held to 64 by a tenacious defensive team effort by Penn State Shenango and by limiting their turnovers to 14 throughout the contest. The Lions were led by a 19 point effort by Sharon, PA native Ramell Askerneese and a great all aound game by Gannon Murray (Boardman HS) with 15 points, 13 rebounds,and 7 assists.
